Susan Worland, Music Director
Susan Worland is Łowiczanie's Music Director, directing the Łowiczanie's Kapela (Polish folk band). Prior to moving to California, Susan was Kapela director for the Krakówiak Polish Dancers of Boston and a guest musician with most of the prominent east coast Polish dance groups with whom she continues to perform occasionally as a guest artist. She also serves as the Music Director for the annual Stockton Folk Dance Camp. Susan enjoys classical music - playing violin for the Santa Cruz Symphony - and Scottish folk music, but her greatest love is for the music of the mountains between Poland and the Czech and Slovak Republics.

Dan Cantrell,
Accordionist
Dan Cantrell has been developing his technique on the accordion for the past 14 years, exploring a variety of styles ranging from Balkan, Rom (gypsy), tango, classical, and folk to jazz and rock. As a recognized expert on his chosen instrument he has dedicated himself to exploring new music, featuring the unique and relatively unexplored voices of his instrument. Dan has created high quality musical scores, and sound design for film and video. His arrangements are rich with acoustic instruments and feature highly skilled musicians.

Barbara Deutsch, Clarinetist
Trained in classical clarinet at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Barbara Deutsch switched gears and received her BA in ethnomusicology from UCLA. She has since specialized in performing Hungarian, Greek, Balkan, and Middle Eastern music, and has toured the US and Europe. As the clarinetist for Kárpátok, a Hungarian folk dance troupe, she took up soprano sax as a modern substitute for tárogató. More recently she has added alto sax and fluier (Romanian folk flute), and has studied with the Romanian clarinet/sax virtuoso Sergiu Balutel. Barbara is Danubius' manager, as well as Music Director of the Westwind International Folk Ensemble.
